Orchard Workspace | Valley Title

The Orchard Workspace comprises two 20-story mixed-use workspace buildings with five shared floors connected by a market and plaza with retail at grade. Designed by WRNS Studio to encourage community, the buildings are surrounded by tree-lined balconies - the orchards of Santa Clara made vertical. To reduce water usage, the project includes a black water treatment system engineered to be shared between The Orchard Workspace and The Orchard Residential.

K+W is providing a sustainable approach to grading design, utility design, and stormwater management, consistent with City of San Jose’s climate action goals and general sustainability practices. The architectural design will include trees and planters on terraces throughout the building to provide additional green space and foliage. K+W is currently proposing the use of Media Filter Systems into the landscaping to promote a unified live and work eco system. Green transportation systems are included in the parking garage with the installation of EV charging stations and dedicated bicycle parking. While attempting to achieve LEED Platinum this development will be a defining high-rise along the city’s skyline.

K+W worked closely with the City of San Jose and public review agencies to achieve a design that aligns with the developer's vision for the evolution of the downtown urban core. K+W’s collective experience working in downtown San Jose was instrumental in successfully integrating the city’s anticipated street designs into the overall site plan emphasizing significant public and private right of way improvements that enhance and support sustainable transportation systems. K+W is currently working with Westbank and the City of San Jose to move the project through entitlements and into construction.
